If your skin is anything like mine, sometimes the most expensive products on the shelf cause me the most problems. Perfumed ingredients in beautiful packaging does nothing but look pretty on my dressing table, and certainly does nothing for my sensitive skin. There’s a number of products probably in your Kitchen right now that you never thought to use on your face.
Over years I’ve perfected my skin care to just a select few natural products and it’s time to pass the torch on. Here are some home beauty remedies your skin will love…
Apple Cider Vinegar
You’ve probably heard the term floating around a lot lately. The product is originally used for cooking ,It’s anti septic qualities balance out PH levels in the skin creating a more even appearance. It’s even said to have earned a place on Heidi Klum and Scarlett Johansson’s dressing tables. Mix 1 part ACV with 2 parts distilled water and apply with cotton wool before moisturizing.
Lemon Juice and brown sugar
A favourite combination of mine mostly because of how simple yet effect it is.Just mix a tablespoon of brown sugar with a squeeze of lemon juice so it has the texture of wet sand. Massage over your face avoiding the eyebrows and hair line. The sugar exfoliates gently while the lemon juice removes black heads.
Salt Scrub and Coconut oil
Rock salt is renown for it’s natural toxin cleansing abilities but it also has anti bacterial properties. It helps fight problems in your skin such as break-outs. However I use mine as a body scrub combined with coconut oil for extra moisture. Add just enough of the oil to the salts so that when applied it leaves a light film ,use on dry skin before turning the shower on. They also make great hand made gifts in jars as well!
Oats face mask
Oatmeal or porridge is excellent for soothing skin conditions like eczema or irritated skin. It works as an anti inflammatory and moisturiser. The plain oats can be added to a bath and mixed into a paste with water for a nourishing mask.
Whether you suffer from the odd break out or not at all the benefits of natural skin care are endless.
