I’ve been lucky enough to stay at the  Shangri-La at the Shard several times and have always had a lovely experience.  The rooms are beautifully designed, the views are absolutely breathtaking, and nothing compares to swimming on the 52nd floor – followed by a sunset cocktail at Gong. The infinity-style pool is the highest in Western Europe, and it’s truly breathtaking – imagine gliding through the water as you watch the sun set over London’s skyline, with panoramic views stretching from St. Paul’s to Canary Wharf. It’s peaceful, luxurious, and unlike any other swim you’ll experience in the city.

In addition to boasting one of the best infinity pools in London, the hotel offers a curated menu of luxurious spa treatments designed for complete rejuvenation. Choose from ELEMIS facials, relaxing massages, and indulgent rituals, alongside beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures, and expert hairdressing—all delivered in serene surroundings high above the city.

Pan Pacific

Pan Pacific Luxury Infinity Pool In London

One of my favourite things about Pan Pacific London has to be its serene infinity pool, tucked away on the hotel’s dedicated wellness floor. At 18.5 metres long, it offers stunning views over the dramatic City skyline – a peaceful oasis high above the usual hustle and bustle of London’s financial district. Surrounded by soft lighting, minimalist design, and floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s the perfect place to unwind. Being one of the rare luxury hotels in London with an infinity pool, it’s high on my list of recommendations.

The Wellbeing Floor also offers a range of treatments that beautifully fuse Western clinical research with Southeast Asian traditions of clean beauty, focusing on result-driven relaxation and tailor-made seasonal rituals. I’ve included Pan Pacific as one of my London Spa Hotels to visit, outside of having an infinity pool.

Art’otel London Battersea Power Station

The Best infinity pools in London Art'otel

If you’re on the hunt for one of the standout infinity pools in London, look no further than the Art’otel London Battersea Power Station. Perched on the 16th floor, this sleek rooftop pool offers jaw-dropping panoramic views of the iconic Battersea chimneys and the city skyline beyond. Heated year-round and designed with modern minimalism, it’s the perfect urban oasis to escape the city buzz.

Beyond the pool, guests can indulge in luxurious spa treatments or join rooftop wellness classes, making Artotel Battersea a true destination for relaxation, style, and a one-of-a-kind infinity pool experience in London. I’ve been impressed with the changes that have happened in Battersea. If you haven’t had the chance to see them, you should pop down – I recently tried TOZI Battersea Pizzeria & Ciccheti Bar, which was delicious and I would recommend.

Sky Pool, Embassy Gardens

I can’t really talk about pools in London without mentioning the iconic Sky Pool at Embassy Gardens. This rooftop pool is extremely unique, being that it’s suspended 115 feet in the air between two residential towers. It’s the world’s first fully transparent, floating pool, with a completely see-through floor and sides. The pool stretches an impressive 25 metres, with a rooftop bar, spa and gardens. The only catch is that you have to be an Embassy Gardens resident or a guest of theirs – for now, I am going to dream I can swim in it one day!

Best alternatives to infinity pools in London

The Berkeley

Swimmer relaxing in heated rooftop pool in London

As I mentioned earlier, it’s rare to find hotels with true infinity pools in London. But with that being said, I wanted to share what I would consider their next best things, and that’s the pool at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge.

While it may not have an infinity edge, it’s undeniably one of the most elegant and exclusive spots to take a dip in the city. Set on the seventh floor, the heated outdoor pool offers sweeping views over Hyde Park and the rooftops of Belgravia. Enjoy a refreshing swim before unwinding with a tropical smoothie or glass of Champagne from the poolside bar, perfectly paired with light bites and delicious small plates. When you are done enjoying the rooftop pool, you could book yourself into their afternoon tea, which is very popular.

Virgin Hotels London

Swimmer relaxing in heated rooftop pool in London

Tucked above the vibrant streets of Shoreditch, the rooftop pool at Virgin Hotels London is a stylish escape with serious holiday energy. Perched on the 12th floor, this intimate heated pool may be compact – but it packs a punch with panoramic views of London’s skyline and a sleek Mediterranean vibe that feels a world away from the bustle below.

Treat yourself to a cocktail and some small bites, while you enjoy relaxing in the sun. Whether you’re lounging poolside with a chilled rosé or enjoying some of the Mediterranean-inspired plates from Marlin’s on the Roof – I would recommend the Crispy Squid! – It’s the perfect hotel getaway for the night. It may not be one of the infinity pools in London, but a rooftop pool is a good compromise.

The Ned

Set high above the clatter of the City, the rooftop pool at The Ned offers a welcome blend of London skyline views and laid-back luxury. Located just a stone’s throw from Bank Station, this five-star former banking hall has been transformed into a sprawling hotel and members’ club – and its rooftop pool is one of the city’s most coveted spots for a swim with a view.

The heated outdoor pool is exclusive to hotel guests and Ned’s Club members, offering front-row seats to St Paul’s Cathedral and the surrounding rooftops. Beyond the pool, guests can make the most of the rooftop’s stylish setup, which includes a restaurant, two converted domes, and outdoor terraces perfect for dining and drinks under the sky.

Our top tips for choosing which infinity pools in London to try

  • Always check the pool’s access rules before you visit. Some infinity pools are exclusive to hotel guests, while others may require advance booking or membership – so it’s best to plan ahead to avoid disappointment. I mentioned the Sky Pool in my article, which is for Embassy Gardens residents or guests of theirs.
  • Infinity pools in London can get busy, especially on weekends or sunny days. Early arrival often means better loungers and a quieter vibe
  • If you are staying in a hotel which has a pool, chances are they also offer other facilities to enjoy such as a steam room, sauda or massages.

In this guide, I’ve curated a selection of the best infinity pools in London, along with some fantastic alternative options, all guaranteed to offer a memorable and relaxing experience.
