When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, and when the spring season gives you roses, make rose infused lemonade!
Spring is now upon us (supposedly), but I’m already finding myself being invited plenty of events traditional to the time of year. One birthday barbeque, one spring picnic and one engagement tea party. There is always the question on my mind of finding the right gift to bring, something that eliminates the worry of anyone else bringing the same thing.
I’ve found a perfectly easy homemade lemonade recipe with a floral twist.
What you will need:
1 Cup of sugar 1 Cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 Cup of water 1 Tablespoon of organic rose water
Rose petals lemon slices to garnish
Instructions:
Boil enough water to fill an ice cube tray, let it cool down and then fill each little square half way. Once frozen, place a rose petal (colour of your choice) onto the top of each one, and then fill the cubes to the top and freeze. Boiling the water first allows the cubes to freeze clear so you can see the petals inside.
Heat the sugar and the water together on the stove until the sugar has melted into a syrup, once you’ve done this, put the mixture in the fridge for 2-3 hours.
Juice lemons so you’ve got a cup of fresh lemon juice, mix it with the rose water, sugar syrup and then , pour into the pitcher, fill the rest with cold water.
Stir the mixture and pour into the glasses , serve with the rose ice cubes. Use any remaining petals and lemon slices to garnish.
Enjoy!
