The Islands of Guernsey are officially announcing ‘The Big Eat Guernsey’, a brand-new food festival aimed at celebrating the island’s rich culinary culture. New for 2026, the festival will run biannually in April and October each year, an exciting addition for travellers visiting in the shoulder months.

The arrival of the Breton Market over Easter’s long weekend (Friday 3 April – Monday 6 April) will signal the beginning of the month-long celebration. The festivities will take place across the Bailiwick, giving visitors insight into the gastronomy of Guernsey, as well as its sister islands.

What to expect from The Big Eat Guernsey Festival

Participating local eateries will offer exclusive set menus, specially crafted for the festival, that showcase Guernsey’s finest ingredients, including dairy and seafood. A series of immersive experiences will also pair food with Guernsey’s beauty and cultural heritage, as local stakeholders host or collaborate on bespoke activities for visitors to take part in.

The varied programme is made up of more than 40 food-led events and menus so far, with many more to be revealed. The events include:

  • The Guernsey Grande Fromage Tour across multiple venues in St Peter Port
  • Foraging and fine dining experiences
  • Cycle and safari tours around Guernsey’s hedge veg stalls – a cherished honesty box system for locals to sell homegrown produce
  • Farm to table dinners
  • Opportunities to meet local and visiting producers and chefs

The launch of the food festival follows the recent announcement of three local restaurants being named in the 2025 Michelin Guide – Vraic, Alba and Fukku

Sam Jarrold, Owner, Fukku said: “Our local food scene is definitely on the rise, reaching new heights, and this festival is a wonderful way to celebrate the incredible venues and product we have to offer.”

Zoe Gosling, Lead Marketing Officer, VisitGuernsey added: “It’s widely acknowledged that the quality and choice of our food and drink offering here in the Islands is exceptional. More travellers than ever are seeking food experiences that connect them to the destinations they are visiting. By drawing on the experience of the local culinary industry, we’re pleased to offer an authentic experience to those visiting.”
