Why not try something new this week and head to the newly launched L’Atelier Du Vin…
When it comes to dining in Brighton you will know just how great the city is when it comes to the food and drink scene. Almost every street you walk down has a place to wine and dine, suiting all taste buds. The challenge now is how to better the other winery or restaurant which is a couple of meters down the road – and this is when we introduce to you the hottest new addition to the food and drink scene L’Atelier Du Vin…
L’Atelier Du Vin is French for ‘artist’s studio of wine’ and if the names seems familiar, this is because it was created by Steve Pineau and Dimitri Mesnard previous experts at Hotel du Vin. They have since left and teamed up together to bring you this new and exciting bar.

L’atelier du Vin encapsulates the vibes of a traditional Prohibition-era bootleg bar, with a melange of reclaimed 1920’s-style furniture, exposed brickwork and period-style decor. The entrance is located off Kensingston Gardens behind a “secret” door – hidden to those who aren’t on the hunt for it – making it feel both exclusive and exciting. It’s a space for those who want to head out on a night, but also want to relax in a homey and cosy atmosphere.
The wine menu at L’Atelier Du Vin is vast, with an impressive range of over 500 wines and 300 spirits, the biggest wine collection in Brighton – and what could be in Sussex! With so many wines on offer, you will be pleased to know they cater for all budgets starting from £4 up to the hundreds with rare vintages on offer. They aim to please everyone, it’s all about enjoying the wine and forgetting about any pretentiousness.
As well as the wine list and spirits, they serve a delicious range of cocktails which are classically inspired and organized chronologically for the cocktail’s invention. They are authentic and use spirits like a 1950’s Gordon Gin which is particularly delicious! Fancy something a little different? The mixologists are trained to create a more modern version to match your taste buds – just speak to the bar team and they can whip you up whatever your tastebuds desire!

A unique touch which will win some of you over is that regulars can have their own steak knife engraved and reserved for their own use – further emphasizing L’atelier du Vin’s focus on their regular customers.
L’Atelier du Vin Brighton is now open so head on down and enjoy a nice glass of wine (or two)! Sunday’s to Fridays, 5pm-7pm they are offering two for one on a selection of wines and cocktails – so don’t miss out!
