Spinning studios are a great way to get active, meet new people and motivate you to work hard and burn those calories!
Taking part in a spinning class for an hour can burn around 600 calories, providing you are pushing yourself hard enough. If you try a more intense spinning class you could burn more. So if you are fed up of cycling through the busy traffic of London, get yourself to a spinning studio as its a great way to enjoy cycling but in a more motivating and car-less environment! One 10
One 10 is a cycle only indoor studio, which recently opened in Marylebone this June. Powered my Techno and offering the highest standard of equipment, you will be able to take part in one of their two studios: Paceline or Nirvana. Paceline, a fast paced and addictive HIIT focused cycling class, in an immersive digital environment. On the digital screen infront you will see your performance stats and be able to compete against others around you. Nirvana is slightly different, Nirvana is an energetic “party ride” which is less focused on competition and more on experience, providing an all-encompassing atmosphere. Classes are priced at £20 per a class.
Both sessions are tracked in your “moves” profile, giving you access to how you have performed and the calories you have burnt. This is presented to you on each session to help motivate and push you to beat your personal best. You can login at any time and access this data on any mobile or electronic device. Cycling shoes are included although you can bring your own.

Psycle London
Psycle has the ultimate cycle studios, based in the heart of Oxford street and in the abyss of Canary wharf and the quirky Shoreditch. With three separate spinning studios, Psycle is jam packed with a variety of different classes designed to challenge, strengthen and push your body to limits you did not know were possible. The standard class goes on for 45-minutes however, 60 and 90 minute classes are available (If you are feeling brave enough) with the price coming in at £20 a per class.
Each session is designed to work your full body, with hand weights available to increase difficulty on your upper body and whilst challenges are set, remember it’s all about having fun. The studios are clean and airy, the changing rooms extremely luxurious and reception being fully stocked! Their Shoreditch studio also offers Yoga, Barre and HIIT as an alternative to cycling. Please note: Cycling shoes are provided free of charge, so you won’t need your trainers.

Digme Fitness
If you are competitive and want to push yourself, you must book into a spin class at Digme Fitness. Using specialist indoor bikes (Keiser M3i) and top of the range fitness tracking software. You are able to measure your performance, calories burnt, RPM and so much more, at a very accurate level. Their signature class lasts 45 minutes although there are some “performance” classes which last for 75 minutes (If you dare). Based on a pay as you go system, the classes cost £20 for one credit, bundle credits are available.
Not all the classes at Digme are competitive, if you would like to cycle to your own pace and to the rhythm of the music, it’s certainly worth checking out their beat classes which are all about enjoying yourself. Don’t be fooled though, all classes are run by extremely talented cyclists who will get you working hard and burning those calories. Digme fitness have two spinning studios based in London and a further two outside the city!

Ride Republic
This one is for those of you who want to get inspired to work hard and out do the rest of the class. With a ‘burn board’ displaying a live score on the leader-board throughout the session, you are going to have to push yourself to be the best and beat the competition. Don’t worry, if you don’t want to get competitive you can always opt out of your name being displayed, but be warned this is not for the faint-hearted- you are going to be worked! Plus to make it harder, dumbbells are available for an upper body workout.
Prices start at £20 for a single ride, you can opt to buy in bulk for a cheaper price. There are other classes available which don’t involve cycling like Yoga, Core 45 or resistant 45. The club as a whole is very well kept and the changing rooms include free lockers and amenities such as hairdryer, straighteners and tampons in the female changing room.

Boom Cycle
Boom Cycle is all about getting active but having great fun at the same time. It’s all about having a “party on a bike” and cycling to great high energy music which will get you grooving and moving. And, you don’t have the stress of having to get competitive with others, you push yourself has hard as you would like and use the instructors to help you along the way.
You better not be afraid of a bit of sweat as you are going to be burning calories like you have never done before. Expect every muscle to be worked from head to toe as you switch from standing to sitting to arm presses and high fives through out. Priced at £18 a ride with multi session available at a cheaper rate, you can expect free towels, locks and spins shoes as well as plenty of amenities such as straighteners and hairdryers, perfect if you want to go to work after.
