However, if you’re exploring London via public transport, you could miss out on the hidden gems, such as Kew Gardens as it’s just on the outskirts of London. If you truly want to grasp the essence of all the things that the city has to offer, it’s best to explore it via car. - Brick Lane Graffiti
If you’re into street art, you can’t miss Brick Lane in East London. It’s surrounded by quirky cafes and authentic curry restaurants. The art spans across buildings and is updated weekly by the local artists, so you can get some great shots for your social media there. The street is long so you can keep walking forward and never run out of sights to gaze at.
- Spitalfields Market
This market is close to Brick Lane and worth visiting, especially if you’ve already been to all the major ones like the Borough market. It’s known for the fresh produce, antiques, vintage records and independent boutiques, so you’ll always find something to do at Spitalfields. Another close-by attraction is Christ Church Spitalfields where you’ll find a Café in the Crypt so you can have a drink in this unique venue.
- The Painted Hall
Located in Greenwich Old Royal Naval College, the Painted Hall is a baroque masterpiece and is also known as Britain’s Sistine Chapel’. The hall was completed in the 18th century and boasts over 40,000 square meters of space. Impressively, all the ceilings and walls have been painted by hand. It’s truly a splendid sight to behold, so make sure to visit it when you’re in South East London.

It’s a truly fascinating place – The Vault is an underground tunnel which is covered in street art and regularly has all sorts of events, from comedy and theatre to nights out, it even has a pub called Vaulty Towers. The Vault Festival also takes places each year and is a must-see if you’re around the Waterloo area.
- Kew Gardens
If you love flowers, then visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is a place not to be missed. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can find over 50,000 different types of plants. Explore Arboretum which has more than 14,000 trees or take a walk across Lake and Sackler Crossing which is a bridge that provides scenic views across the lake as you walk.
