One of Miami’s most talked-about Mexican restaurants is heading to London. Cult US brand Coyo Taco – popular with celebrity regulars like Major Lazer and Diplo – is renowned for its fresh Mexican street food, vibrant atmosphere and late-night cocktail bars. The group will be opening its first UK restaurant in Orchard Place, SW1 this summer.

What Food Will be at Coya Taco London?
The new restaurant will serve Coyo’s signature menu of hand-pressed tacos, which were enjoyed by Barack Obama in 2018, as well as generously filled torta sandwiches. Alongside frozen margaritas, Coyo will also be dishing up burritos, bowls, salads and quesadillas, with everything prepared fresh on site. Coyo’s all-day dining concept will include a breakfast menu where chilaquiles and Mexican coffee will take centre stage.
Founded in Miami’s iconic Wynwood district, Coyo Taco has built a huge following thanks to its bold Mexican flavours, secret sets from headline DJs, vibrant atmosphere and dedication to fresh ingredients. Now Londoners will finally get a taste. Following the brand’s “todo es fresco” philosophy – meaning everything is fresh – the kitchen will press corn tortillas daily and smash guacamole to order. All the brand’s salsas are made freshly every day too.
Expect fillings made with farm-fresh vegetables, responsibly sourced meats and seafood, and the kind of street-food flavours that have made Coyo a favourite in Miami.
But the experience goes beyond the food.
How about the Drinks at Coya Taco London?
Like its Miami locations, the London restaurant will also feature a late-night Bar Coyo, serving a tequila – and mezcal-forward menu inspired by Miami nightlife. Secure tequila lockers will also be available for hire so guests can purchase and secure their own bottle to enjoy with every visit. Bar Coyo features in many of the US stores, providing a late-night speakeasy vibe where David Beckham was even spotted enjoying a Dubwise party.
And the Entertainment?
Continuing to build on the Miami nightlife vibe, Coyo will see rotating DJs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights making use of built-in DJ decks on the bar and keeping the energy high and making weekends feel a bit more Miami.
Art will also play a central role in the space. Inspired by Miami’s famous Wynwood Walls, the restaurant will host a rotating Artist in Residence programme, inviting local artists to create murals and artwork throughout the venue.
The brand was founded by Coyoacan native, Alan Drummond alongside Sven Vogtland and chef Scott Linquist who, together, have combined authentic Mexican flavours and fresh ingredients with the strong art and music culture of Miami’s Wynwood neighbourhood.
Coyo CEO, Shereen Ritchie, said: “London is one of the most exciting food cities in the world, but fresh, authentic Mexican food is still surprisingly hard to find. Coyo brings incredible flavour but also a real sense of atmosphere – with art, music and a late-night bar that captures the energy of Miami.”
