Plisse co ord sets and cinched waists – Top outfits you need for Autumn

While the warm weather shows no signs of relenting, the nights are slowly starting to get darker earlier, a sure sign that autumn is on its way. Before long, the air will be fragranced with the hues of spiced pumpkin lattes and our sandals will be safely tucked at the back of our wardrobes. Autumn is, for many, one of the best times of year, when it’s not yet bitterly cold, leaves in shades of auburn and bright yellow decorate the paths and it’s an excuse to just relax at home. It’s also a great time to experiment with fashion, both for the workplace and when out and about. From plisse co ord sets and cinched wasts to androgynous cuts, we take a look at five outfits you need for Autumn.

The Perfect co ord set

While plisse co ord sets have been a top trend for a while, co ords, in general, are going nowhere. We recommend a set in autumnal colours such as warm oranges and browns, but bright colours and neutrals will also not go amiss. You can wear a blazer and trouser co ord when heading to office, or look glam and get ready for a night out with these women’s co ords – the choice is yours.

A trusty tank top

If there is one trend we’re super happy to see return, it is the rise of the tank. A wardrobe binder, it’s never really gone anywhere, but its never been the forefront of your ensembles either. See in the autumn weather with a plain white tank paired with a pair of flared jeans or a jazzy skirt. From high street to designer, everyone from H&M to Prada and Arket are bringing out their own take on the humble tank.

A flight jacket

When looking for outerwear that can take you from Autumn through to Spring, a flight jacket is an effortless choice that’s bang on trend. Throw it over gym clothes on your way to a work-out, sling it over your shoulders when heading for brunch and don’t forget to wear it when looking to add an androgynous edge to your eveningwear.

Something waist-cinching

While previous seasons have seen us hiding our waists, this Autumn it’s all about bringing it back. From coats and jumpers to dresses, cinched waists are currently one of the hottest trends to land in the latter part of 2022. You could opt for a corset with a pair of trousers, or turn to a dress that nips in at the waist. There are so many choices, you can easily wear this trend no matter if you prefer to wear skirts, dresses or trousers.

A maxi skirt

Miniskirts were the length for summer and as we head into the cooler seasons, this is being firmly replaced by maxi lengths. The ideal choice for Autumn when you aren’t quite sure what the weather will do throughout the day, it keeps you protected yet not too warm. Opt for maxi coats with androgynous silhouettes and dresses and skirts that almost sweep the floor to really tap into this trend.
