One thing… one little thing… isn’t it weird how that one teeny weeny thing can make a not-so-teeny-weeny difference in your home? Never thought about it? If that’s the case you’re missing out because making these very, very small changes can bring some very, very big benefits when it comes to your interior design.
Buying or renting a home costs money, maintaining a home costs money, and decorating a home costs money. Although we can’t help very much with those first two costs (sorry!), we can help with the third, and it’s all about making those teensy little changes we mentioned above. You can turn your home into something special and stylish without having to spend very much at all by making some little changes, so with that in mind, here are a few things that can change a room completely that you might want to try out.
A Rug
A rug? That’s it? It most certainly is, but because you can get all kinds of different rugs, including fantastic luxury rugs, you don’t have to settle for anything you don’t want or like, and just adding a rug to your room, whether it’s a living room, bedroom, hallway, or anywhere else, can turn it from dull to delightful in a matter of moments.
Rugs are super cool because they come in all shapes, styles, patterns, colours, materials, and you can even get rugs that link to your favourite TV shows, music, or hobbies – pretty much whatever you want, you can get. Whether you want something ultra-soft underfoot or something hard-wearing because you’ve god pets, a rug ticks all the boxes.
A Coffee Table
What does absolutely every single room need in it? Well, unless you’re literally just using the room for storage (in which case you’re probably not thinking about its interior design), the answer is furniture. Think about it. You’ll see it’s one hundred percent true.
Now, although different rooms need different things, we are writing a blog post about adding one single thing to a room to change it completely, and on that note, we’re going to focus on a coffee table. Coffee tables look pretty stylish – a proper grown up piece of furniture – and they’re functional, so it’s not like you’re adding something just for the sake of it (far too easy to do, right?), so if you’re stuck for what to put in the middle of your living room, you’ve got the answer now. You’re welcome.
A Standing Lamp
Yes, okay, we did say there was one thing every room (apart from storage rooms) needed, but actually, there’s something else too – lighting. Who wants to live in the dark? Since you need lighting, you might as well make it beautiful and pick something that can change an entire room – you might as well pick a standing lamp.
Why? Well, a standing lamp looks the part but it’s also useful – you can move it around the room and light up various different areas depending on your need. Plus, if you add a dimmer switch, things get even more interesting – not only can you move the lamp around, but you can adjust it however you want, so it really can be the single thing you need.
