If you haven’t visited Vegas before and have a trip planned, you might be wondering what you can do to make the most of your holiday there. Perhaps you are heading for a hen or stag do, maybe you’re going as part of a wider American road trip, or it could be that you’re going for a break with your other half. No matter the reason you are going, we have put together some top tips for visiting Las Vegas that will ensure you have the best time possible.

Plan what you want to do before you go

Prior to your trip to Las Vegas, you want to think about the activities you’ll partake in while you are there. While the first thing you might think about doing is heading to the slots (if so, we recommend practising on a live casino beforehand) there are also a plethora of other activities to take part in. Infact, with so many things you can add to your itinerary, it’s a good idea to plan ahead of time.

This way you can ensure the things you want to do are open, know how much they will be and book ahead in case they are busy. We recommend you go to a pool party – there are many of these during the summer and a host of top DJs perform too. You can head to a concert where singers will have their residencies, you can shop until you drop and you can dine in some of the best restaurants in the world. Be sure to visit little Venice and the Eiffel Tower, take a photo with the famous Las Vegas sign and see the light show on the fountain that happens throughout the day and evenings.

Consider heading beyond the strip

While the strip is undoubtedly one of the things that Vegas is most known for, it’s a good idea to head beyond this so you can experience more of what Vegas has to offer. We recommend going to downtown Vegas where you can learn about the old mobs that used to be there including the Mob Museum which is well worth a visit. You can visit the shopping malls, or do a trip to the Grand Canyon which you can tour in a helicopter. There are so many things to do you don’t want to restrict yourself to just one area.

Choose your hotel wisely

Vegas is awash with hotels and you want to find the best one for you. There are many large hotels you can choose between, including MGM Grand, Caesars Palace and Vdara, but there are also some more boutique style places to stay as well. Think about what you want from your trip, whether you want to stay somewhere right in the thick of the action, or if you want somewhere that you can retire to at the end of the day (or in the early hours of the morning, it is Vegas after all!) and relax. Do your research and read reviews to find out which accommodation would suit you best.

Have a budget in mind

There’s no denying it, Vegas can be expensive (let’s hope you win on one of the slots!) It’s a good idea to have a budget in mind so you can factor in what to save for the trip and not worry too much about spending while you are out there. You are going to want to factor in your food and drink as well as your daily activities and tips for the staff when you are out there. Research the cost of any activities before you go and see if you can find any vouchers online to give you a cheaper price. There are always deals to be had, so keep your eyes peeled!

These are a few top tips for visiting Las Vegas to ensure you have a memorable time. Above all, you want to come back having had the best experiences of your life and knowing you got the most out of your time spent away. What are some of your top tips for visiting Las Vegas?
