Who didn’t love the sports luxe/street-style trend this summer?

That’s right. None of us… and I for one am not ready to let go of it just yet!

My first plans for this shoot were to show you girls just how to take your sport street style through to winter to link in perfectly with our new fitness page. With sportswear growing day-by-day through up and coming luxury labels such as Charli Cohen, Lucas Hugh and Gymluxe as well as high street stores offering on-trend sportswear. Fitness Fashion is so exciting right now.

But then…Whilst researching and gathering looks for the shoot, I noticed just how important that cosy feeling as that weather changes is to us. And so I decided to keep the sports/street theme throughout, but work to merge this together with those cosy layers, knitwear, and winter accessories so you can feel as snug as a bug whilst still looking great!

I hope these looks inspire you to embrace the cold and enjoy all the wonderful winter fashion that comes with it! Don’t let the weather discourage you from having fun with your wardrobe and showing of your personality underneath!

Any questions please do email me at danielle@seeninthecity.co.uk and I promise to get back to you as soon as I can!

Evening ideas: The Sports Luxe mix

Although still quite casual, I wanted to show you ideas of how you might bring that sports attitude and winter warmth to your night out without looking like your ready for bed!

For Nicole, I opted for more of a party look while with Sophie I experimented with a sweeter Christmas shopping to dinner date look.

The sports leg and oversized knit

This is one of my personal favourites. These looks keep you warm, keep you comfy, and keep you looking great. I’ve dressed the girls in sportswear leggings and long-line knitwear.

This is a great look for any women of any size. If your smaller in height, aim for a longer line jumper that just hits the crotch to give the image of a longer leg, if you are taller, you should play more with layering at different hem lengths to

break up the figure. You also have the chance to go that little bit longer, I love the just above the knee look, broken up by another layer slightly shorter on top

Play around and see what feels right to you.

I’d also highly recommend investing in a pair of sports leggings and/or track-pants if you don’t already have a pair. For one, they are usually stronger and more durable that an ordinary legging, and two, they are far less see-through! I

love the tighter leg track pant because it offers a similar look to the legging, but has that cosier pyjama feel for winter and gives that extra snug feeling.

Jumpsuits and cropped layers

This is a look I love, and the perfect one for when the weather gets colder. No need for tucking in uncomfortable layers to keep the chilly breeze out, the jumpsuit allows you to keep all the warmth in even when your cropped jumper rises when you stretch or move.

The great thing about the jumpsuit is that it allows you to wear your favourite cropped layers without getting a chill or having to deal with a couple of different hem lengths that just aren’t working well together.

For Nicole I chose a super comfy track-pant and sweater style jumpsuit from ASOS. For Sophie, a slightly thinner, lighter fabric with dashes of super pale green to create texture to the look. What I loved about this jumpsuit is that (if you are someone who likes to where all black) it allows you to break up a head-to- toe black outfit without having to add any block colours or over-powering prints!
