Getting To London

Assuming you’re flying from your home country to London the chances are you’re thinking of a business class flight. Why not, the seats are good and the food acceptable. The issue here is that one, you have to go through the check-in process which you wouldn’t wish on your worse enemy, and two, you have a high chance of experiencing a delay that will impact negatively on your abilities to do business.

An option that not many consider is a private jet. Here, you’ll board without having to go through check-in as that is done before you arrive. You’ll leave on time and feel refreshed when you land. Then you’ll be whisked off to your hotel as customs clearance is done while you’re in the air. If you are travelling to London, you can find your private jet here.

Where to Stay

London has plenty of choice where it comes to hotels. Given that you’re probably doing business near the City of London, you want a hotel that is within easy reach of this part of London. As such, consider hotels in central London and the West End. You’ll be no more than 30 minutes away from the City of London and you’ll be ready to do business. Hotels such as The Piccadilly London West End Hotel is a great choice.

You could also consider this hotel when planning a London business trip.

Where to Eat?

Your hotel will probably have a good menu and you may want to invite the participants in the meeting to hold the meeting over lunch if you feel the food is good enough and you want to pull out all the stops.

When you have your own time, you may want to explore the city and many of its fine restaurants. There is something to suit all tastes even if you have food allergies.

When you’re in London why not check out a few rooftop bars which give great views over the city.

Arrive Early

You may want to consider arriving a day or two early before your business meeting. You’ll be fully refreshed and hopefully more around the track when it comes to beating jetlag. You can also have that little more time to prepare which is always advantageous.

Have an Agenda

Meetings are more productive when there is an agenda and that you stick to the agenda during the meeting. Time is money and it is important that the focus is on the agenda. Send a copy of the agenda to all participants to keep the meeting on track.

With this in mind, ensure the meeting starts and finishes on time. Meetings can feel like they are preventing more productive work from being done, so try not to let it overrun.
