We’re turning up the festive magic today with a pair of adults tickets, or a family ticket to Glow Wild 2025 at Wakehurst, the South East’s spectacular Christmas light trail. (You can see our other prizes for the advent here!)
Why this is one not to miss!
As night falls, Wakehurst’s wild botanic gardens transform into a glittering winter wonderland, with hand-crafted lanterns, immersive light installations and enchanting surprises at every turn. This year’s theme is “Seed Safari – A Walk on the Wild Side.” It celebrates 25 years of the Millennium Seed Bank, exploring nature’s secret language of seeds, growth and regeneration. On the trail, you’ll wander among glowing giants, mythical creatures and luminous landscapes, all inspired by the humble seed and the cycle of life.
What you’ll see and experience:
- The dazzling “Moon River” where over 13,000 individually programmed lights weaving through the grounds, joined by lantern creatures like beavers, moths and storks. It’s Glow Wild’s biggest ever installation.
- The fantastical “Polypodipus”, a towering, bioluminescent tentacled creature rising from a glowing pondscape. Other installations include glowing fungi, sea-garden lanterns, secret glades, and magical sea creatures.
- An immersive soundscape, featuring evocative audio vignettes voiced by celebrated ambassadors, adding layers of storytelling and magic to the nighttime stroll.
- Festive touches along the way: warming fire-pit marshmallows, seasonal street food, cosy drinks, and the chance to wander under Wakehurst’s iconic Christmas tree.

- Prize includes two adult tickets or one family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) for a visit from 28 November to 3 January, to experience the Glow Wild winter trail.
- The ticket includes free parking
- Tickets are only valid for a visit between 28 Nov to 3 Jan, and must be redeemed by 3 Jan
- Tickets cannot be used against day entry, or any other ticketed or paid for activities in the gardens. No cash alternative or exchanges.

The family ticket covers either two adult tickets or two adults and two children (0-16) and includes car parking costs.
Tickets are only valid for a Glow Wild evening between 28 November and 3 January and cannot be used for general day entry, or against any other ticketed or paid for activities in the gardens.
No cash alternative or exchanges.
Must be redeemed by 3 January 2026.
One winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries received by the closing date.
The winner will be notified via the email address provided on the entry form within 5 working days of the competition closing.
The winner must respond within 48 hours of notification. If no response is received, Seen in the City reserves the right to select a new winner.
