This summer, Sabine – London’s hottest new destination rooftop bar is set to bring a taste of the Caribbean exclusively on the 11th of August. They are hosting an event in collaboration with Mount Gay, the world’s oldest rum distillery offering tropical cocktails, a sky-high barbecue and delicious Bajan rum.
Relax under the backdrop of the iconic St Pauls Cathedral from 6pm as you enjoy a perfect summer evening with friends. The evening commences with a Mouth Gay rum masterclass where you can learn the story of Mount Gay from the Barbados born and raised Mount Gay Global Brand Ambassador Miguel Smith. He will teach you about the different flavours and notes of the rum as well as giving you the opportunity to mix and muddle your own cocktail. Once you have finished the class, you will also receive a goodie bag including Mount Gay Rum treats and cocktail recipe cards, so you can recreate your favourites at home.
Next, you’ll tuck into a Bajan-inspired BBQ feast that is sure to delight. Must-tries include Caribbean spiced beef; Habanero chicken wings; Jerk marinated pork belly; and rum glazed chicken, all accompanied by flavourful sides such as pineapple salsa, and mango and sweet pepper salad.
Cocktails, of course, take centre-stage with three delicious Mount Gay concoctions from Sabine Bar Manager, Davide Valvano, included within your ticket. Rum Punch mixed with Black Barrel rum is Barbados in a glass; followed by the Forbidden Cooler, mixed with Black Barrel rum, pink grapefruit juice and soda for a suitably refreshing sip; and the XO Honey Old Fashioned with XO rum, honey and bitters is a deliciously rich cocktail to finish the evening.
