Belstaff AW16 Collection

Date:

This London Fashion week was the chance for Belstaff AW16 to showcase it’s capsule collection designed by Liv Tyler called ‘Polar Pioneer’ and rightly so.

Held at One Marylebone, this was a star studded event with the likes of Olivia Palermo in attendance to see Belstaff AW16 collection. Fashionista’s came out in hoards to see for themselves this stunning collection whilst sipping on champagne- of course.

In general the pieces combined luxe and leather with a large amount of leather trousers in different colours, mainly black, beige and red. Quilted leather trousers teamed with chunky boots and multi-tonal fur jackets. Additionally there were red and black leather biker ensembles which wouldn’t be out of place in Deadpool. Also there were heaps of beige and grey looks such as grey tweed waterfalls capes with patches of leather sewn on to them with white skin tight trousers and beige ankle boots. This collection would no doubt keep anyone warm with their over sized shearling jackets and padded parka coats with fur lined collars. All of the looks were wearable and practical for anyone bracing the cold weather. (Perhaps even the arctic circle as the name of the collection suggests) Along with these were chunky multi textured knits, biker boots and casual two toned bombers which could be dressed up or down. In regards to styling the models wore neutral make up and kept their hair tousled and soft.

Belstaff know how to do their staples and all of the coats will be coveted that goes without saying. A particular attention grabber was a fitted coat with a black collar set against a split colour block of beige and red. A statement piece that would brighten up any dull winter day. The showcase styled it with spray on leather trousers, patent leather boots and a black polo neck but you could really style this anyway you wanted to. To sum up Belstaff’s reputation of getting the classics right was only cemented by their stunning visions in this collection. I predict a sell out.
