Review: Z Hotel Trafalgar Square, a gateway to the capital

Situated moments away from the hustle and bustle of central London, the new Z Hotel Trafalgar Square makes the city of London accessible on a budget…

Z Hotel Trafalgar is one of the latest additions to the existing collection of Z Hotels that spans the city. Situated moments away from the hustle and bustle of central London, minutes away from Leicester Square and Charring Cross station, it offers an affordable luxury experience in the heart of London. With only 123 rooms on-site, you can expect a chic boutique feel throughout the hotel, which makes it perfect for those travelling for business or coming for a short city break in the big smoke.

The hotel itself isn’t like your traditional hotel, but instead, it leans to the hip and trendy side, with an assortment of design quirks, and a more casual way of hosting guests. Some travellers don’t like the stuffy feel of a luxury hotel, but this offers a sense of comfort with a more traveller-friendly feel. It’s perfect for solo travellers too, as the open plan area provides a perfect networking base. There is also a complimentary wine and cheese offering from 5-8pm every night, which provides the perfect opportunity to get together with other like-minded individuals.

The Z Hotel Trafalgar provides a sleek glass-walled bathroom, which mixes well with the rest of the wood scheme in the hotel. However, the frosted glass is the only thing separating you between the bathroom, shower, and the rest of the room. The remainder of the room is cosy, but a suitable size for a city hotel. While there are no wardrobes or safes, there is a good amount of the space under and next to the bed to store luggage when it’s not in use and, with the London average of a two-night stay, those extras aren’t always required. However, there is an assortment of other vital amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and a kettle with various sachets of tea and coffee, accompanied by the expected cups and saucers too.

The Z Hotel Trafalgar offers a fantastic breakfast offering for a reasonable price too. For £10 you can get access to the continental buffet breakfast, in addition to a la carte hot breakfasts too. From egg pots to a veggie bap, it’s a substantial way to start a new day in the city.

Overall, the Z Hotel Trafalgar is perfect for those looking to stay within the city on a budget. Providing all the essentials required for a comfortable stay, within a stone’s throw away from all the hottest bars, restaurants, theatre shows, with a number of transport links to whisk you away across the city.

Rooms at the Z Hotel Trafalgar Square start from £80
