What can you expect from No1 Lounge at Gatwick North Terminal?
On our visit we were surprised at just how much there was on offer at the lounge. Prior to the visit we’d read there was a variety of freshly prepared dishes on offer as well as an extensive range of drinks and this was certainly true. We visited during breakfast so tucked into a full-English buffet as well as a selection of flaky pastries that were still warm from the oven. The buffet is well stocked and although the lounge was busy, there was no jostling to get in line or having to wait for ages to get anything.
Drinks wise, you have tea, coffee, soft drinks, wines, beers and spirits available, with both self-service options and items made to order. We added a bottle of Champagne as we were travelling for a wedding and therefore wanted to truly start the celebrations early! This was an extra cost, but added a luxurious touch that elevated the experience.
I’d brought my laptop with me to do some work as although it was a trip for pleasure, there are always things that need to be done! The lounge includes free Wi-Fi, charging points for devices, and quiet areas where you can work or hold meetings. This is a far cry from trying to find a spare seat in the main departures area of the airport, let alone one with a charging point available.
If you don’t want to work but want something to do, there are TVs to watch aswell as complimentary newspapers and magazines to read to ensure you can unwind prior to your flight. I didn’t get a chance to try it, but the lounge also has optional paid extras such as showers if you want to refresh prior to your flight.
