First Look: JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn’s Newly Transformed Spa

When it comes to wellbeing escapes, one of the destinations that surprises people a lot is. Scottsdale. Who would have thought a desert destination would have such a wide array of spas and rejuvenating experiences? If you’re heading here this year, either for a wellbeing break, to explore the city, or if you’ve booked to stay at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn, you need to visit their newly transformed spa. Here’s why.

JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Spa

Following a $25m renovation, JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn’s iconic Spa reopened its doors to wellness-lovers earlier this month. Cementing Scottsdale’s status as one of the most sought-after spa destinations worldwide, the brand-new self-care playground is a rejuvenating haven.

Since opening in 1989 as one of Marriott’s first full-service resort spas, The Spa at Camelback Inn has been a cornerstone of the hotel’s identity. As the sanctuary enters a new era, it seeks to create pathways to lasting well-being, blending the natural rhythms of the Sonoran Desert with the ariVéa holistic philosophy.

New Design Elements

Rooted in a design reflective of the earth’s elements, the 32,000-square-foot Spa was re-envisioned through a lens of natural materials, celebrative of the rugged beauty of the Sonoran Desert. From pillowed French limestone adorning the lobby, to linen-like textiles and natural cacti sculptures dotted around, the spa’s indoor spaces are an extension of the calming desert’s presence.

A New Ritual of Movement, Stillness, and Water

The reimagined spa experience centres on cycles of heat, cold, breath, and rest. Inside, a Wellness Circuit provides a Himalayan salt sauna, aromatherapy steam cavern and limestone infrared loungers; whilst a co-ed relaxation space named The Sanctuary encourages quiet contemplation – accompanied by uninterrupted views of Camelback Mountain. Elsewhere, The Stillness Lounge introduces deeper levels of sensory restoration with Mind-Sync HarmonicWellness Loungers. Lastly, the Wellness Waters offers a trio of tranquil hydrotherapies at the main, salt and cold plunge pools.

Treatment Menu Highlights

The Spa at Camelback Inn’s refreshed treatment menu follows four “Pathways to Well-Being,” each aligned with the ariVéa philosophy. Detox harnesses the Sonoran Desert’s natural elements for purifying rituals, whilst Soothe supports nervous-system recovery with signature treatments including Lipid Body Renewal. Harmonise balances the body with sessions including the Bindi Body Balancing treatment, incorporative of ancient herbs and oils; and Restore invigorates through facials, stretching, and meditative experiences for a refreshingly radiant glow.

Ora Café: Nourish With Intention

Debuting as the spa’s culinary centrepiece, Ora Café offers mindful plates crafted with guidance from a licensed nutritionist. In alignment with the Spa’s “Pathways”, the menu navigates guests towards dishes aligned with their chosen intention – Detox, Soothe, Harmonise, or Restore – extending the benefits of the spa journey into the culinary experience. The vibrant dishes also spotlight ingredients grown on-site, in the brand’s signature JW Garden.
