How To Make The Most Of Your Time In Marrakech

Decide where to stay

When spending time in Marrakech, we recommend staying in a villa. There are so many to choose between and they offer the chance to stay in luxury, while also having the freedom and flexibility to make your holiday what you want. You don’t need to worry about being surrounded by other guests, can make the space your own and can stick to whatever schedule you want.

Take time to see the main sights:

Marrakech is a stunning city with so much to see and do. Some of the main places you need to make time to visit include:

Jemaa el-Fnaa – This is the vibrant main square in Marrakech and features the main marketplace, buzzing with food vendors, snake charmers, and street performers. It’s well worth a visit here to take in the sights, sounds and scents around you.

Koutoubia Mosque – Marrakech’s iconic mosque, the Koutoubia mosque is known for its striking minaret visible across the city. Note that the interior of Koutoubia Mosque is reserved for Muslims only, however non-Muslims are welcome to admire the mosque and surrounding gardens from the outside

Majorelle Garden – This stunning botanical garden covers one hectare of land and is known for its cobalt-blue structures, designed by artist Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent.

Bahia Palace – Make time to visit the Bahia Palace, a mid to late 19th-century palace. While here you can meander around the gardens and courtyards as well as take in the stunning Moroccan design to the interiors.

Saadian Tombs – If you’re one who loves history and a exploring tombs, these are a great place to add to your Marrakech itinerary. The resting place of over 60 members of the Saadi family as well as dozens of bodies thought to be nobles from the court, it consists of two huge mausoleums and is one of the most popular sights in the area.

Plan an itinerary before you go

We recommend putting an itinerary together before you leave. This way you can ensure you see everything you want to. If you need to book tickets for certain places, you can rest assured it will be open on the date you want to go and you double check things such as opening times and costs.

These are just a few things you can do to make the most of your time in Marrakech. Ensure you book the accommodation of your dreams and plan an itinerary before you go so you get to see everything you want to.
