The top places to get cocktails in London this summer you need to put on your list…
It’s that time of the year when we dare to think all things summer no matter what the weather. We were blessed with the first momentous May Day long weekend of sunshine and now we’re ready for more. Is there really a better way to spend warm evenings and sunny weekends than sharing a delicious drink and nibbles with friends? I don’t think so. With sunshine on our minds here are our pick of the top places to get cocktails in London this summer…
Madison Rooftop
Madison has launched 12 cocktails inspired by the Big Apple, painstakingly curated by Fred Tartas of German Gymnasium and The Ritz fame. The menu varies from the classic Margarita to more modern twists such as Berry Smash – made of gin, calvados, fresh strawberries, mint, lemon and orange bitters. The cocktails are a journey of the history New York from the Victorian era via Prohibition to the present and a real must on our top places to get cocktails in London this summer.

100 Wardour Street
100 Wardour Street’s menu perfectly matches the venue’s history as the site of iconic Marquee Club. None less than David Bowie and the Rolling Stones have strutted their stuff here. Suitably, bar manager Massimo Bosio and team have looked to the past for inspiration for their new menu. With themes such as It’s Tiki Time and The Golden Era the menu is fun, flirty and vivid. Try the Navy Swizzle created with Pusser’s Gunpowder rum, lime juice and triple sec.

Quaglino’s
Londoners’ favourite Mayfair haunt Quaglino’s just launched the summer edition of their immensely successful Q-Aperitivo menu. It celebrates all things Italian with fruity aperitivo cocktails. Think stylish Italian summers driving along the coast or long days lazing in dazzling sunshine. My favourite was Ponte Vecchio made of sultana and rosemary infused Tanqueray 10 with Campari and Galliano Balsamico.

Avenue
Myths and Legends is the theme of Avenue’s new summer cocktail menu inspired by legends of Asia and Latin America. Their presentation is as melodramatic as the name suggests. One half of the menu celebrates the elements of fire, air, land, water and aether. The other half celebrates mystical Asian animals that represent cardinal points. My favourite was the Yellow Dragon which consisted of Nikka all Malt, lulu tong syrup and lemon juice topped with Asahi beer and garnished with amaranth flower.
