Secret Cinema creates an immersive screening of the famous 2001 blockbuster Moulin Rogue!

Cinema has had a revamp. A far cry from the days of uncomfortable fabric seats and an unappetizing odour of feet, London has taken the movie scene and turned it on it’s head. Most particularly in the case of The Secret Cinema, and now they are bringing one of the world’s most coveted stories – Moulin Rogue!

Pushing boundaries like never before, you will be transported back to 1899 Paris and given a unique identity from over a thousand bespoke characters. From models desperate to avoid destitution as Creatures of the Underworld, to starry-eyes writers writers who dream of immortality with their fellow Children of the Revolution, to rich Aristocrats, who grasp for limitless money and power, you will be integrated fully into the heart of the sensual and daring period of the Belle Époque.

Secret Cinema Moulin Rogue!

An abandoned warehouse in the East End will be transformed into the village of Montmarte and is expected to see up to 80,000 people dance and sing through the moonlit streets in a truly unforgettable evening. Secret Cinema chose the location carefully – an area in need of regeneration – so they could engage the community as part of their Secret Youth project via youth workshops, work experience and job opportunities. They have also worked with the charity Help Refugees and hidden the names of one hundred refugees around the set. You are invited to become activists to highlight and protest the plight.Prices for The Secret Cinema experience begin at just £49 (lower than some of the recent productions) in order to make the show as accessible to all as possible.
