  1. A hobby room. A garden room can give you the space to indulge in your hobbies away from the chaos of the house. Having the extra space could also let you turn your hobby into a business.
  2. A gym. Use your garden as your own gym. Add in equipment, mirrors to check your form, and even a shower if you have plumbing outside. Save on gym membership and make it harder to skip your workout.
  3. Home spa. You can fit a steam room or home sauna in a garden room. Keep an area clear for relaxation and meditation, with a few spa touches, like oil burners. You could also go all out and add a deck with a hot tub.
  4. Yoga studio. If you want somewhere to escape to, turn your garden room into a place of calm and exercise. Add your yoga mat, some mood lighting, and some cushions and pillows, and make your own yoga studio. Garden rooms can be the best way to find a space for calm.
  5. A pub or bar. Why not make your own local in your garden? This is perfect if you enjoy brewing your bar or collecting whisky or another spirit. Add some fun touches will some pub signage, bar games and a dartboard.
  6. Memorabilia room. Do you love a particular film franchise or TV show? Why not take your love to a new level with a memorabilia room in the garden. Create a viewing area, display and showcase your collectables, and put up some prints.
  7. Vintage game arcade. If vintage game arcades are something you love, or you want somewhere for the kids to play, a really fun way to make use of a garden room is to turn it into your own games arcade. Set up a few old arcade machines, retro games consoles, and some storage for snacks, and you have somewhere to spend time with friends and family.
  8. Home office. Working from home is becoming a lot more common now, and a home office can help you to be able to focus better. There’s no committee, no time wasted on office chat, and you can be more productive. With the time saved, you have more time to spend on your hobbies and with your family.
  9. Guestroom. Have people to stay and need to squash guests into your house? Make a guest room in the garden. You could also make some extra money by renting out your room on Airbnb too.
  10. Helping hand. You can use your garden to help adult children while they are saving to get on the property ladder. Instead of wasting money on rent, they could temporarily stay in your garden room. They can save money, but still have some private space of their own away from the house.
