Thrill Seekers can take to the sky and abseil 450ft down the British Airways i360…
Since launching the British Airways i360 back in 2016, many special events have taken place on-board, from F45’s workout in the sky to a dining experience 450ft in the air! With surprise events continually cropping up and testing the boundaries of sky-high hosting, you may be thinking; what’s next? And the answer to that is – Abseiling from the pod doors at 450ft!
Unlike your normal abseiling experience down cliff faces, thrill-seekers can test their nerve and take on a new challenge by abseiling from the pod doors at 450ft, taking in the stunning coastal views as you glide through the open air to land.
Their new offering, known as iDrop Abseil, will be taking place throughout the summer and autumn months on Saturday mornings. The first set of tickets are on sale for the 2nd June, 7th July and 4th August, withh more dates set to be announced. If you are looking for a challenge to raise some money for charity, this could just be the thing for you!
The first abseil event took place on April 28 to raise funds for local children’s charity Rockinghorse. Twenty-nine people ranging from professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr to an 85-year-old grandmother took part in the challenge. When speaking about the idrop abseiling challenge, professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr said: “Everything in your body is telling you stay in the pod; you’re 450ft in the air! It’s an adrenaline rush, I enjoyed it, and it’s something you can say you’ve done for the rest of your life,”
The iDrop Abseil experience will be available to large groups (maybe a stag or hen or businesses team building)! Groups of 20 can book exclusive iDrop Abseil mornings and can upgrade their experience to include hire of Go-Pros plus team T-shirts and Nyetimber English sparkling wine to enjoy afterwards. Interested groups should email: email@example.com
