Whether you’re a devout foodie, someone who loves to discover new restaurants, or simply love to eat, there’s no denying the fact that food can really make a destination. Not only in the joy that a really incredible bite can evoke, or that sip of a crisp local wine, but also the story that the flavours tell. The fleeting dash of salt on the tongue, the heat-rush of a chilli, the marrying of sweet and savoury, a crunch or a lick. There are recipes that have been handed down generations, others inspired by travels and given a unique twist. In a time when access to information about not just good, but excellent local food is just a swipe, click and scroll away, there’s no excuse to be eating at a generic chain. Kissimmee’s Latin Culinary Trail is an effortless choice when you’re next heading to this little pocket in Florida. While often (unfairly) overshadowed by its neighbour Orlando, it’s things like this that put Kissimmee firmly on the map and prove just why you need to head here for your next trip.

The Kissimmee Latin Culinary Trail offers you the chance to explore the destination through food, with over 40 restaurants, cafes, food trucks and bars included. Originally created through a partnership with Atlas Obscura back in 2025, it’s only continuing to grow. Take the time to work through the list, dining your way to a deeper understanding of the people, traditions, and flavours that have shaped Kissimmee’s food landscape.

The stories highlighted on the Latin Culinary Trail celebrate the individuals who bring Kissimmee’s rich culinary and cultural heritage to life, creating memorable experiences through food and tradition. One such destination is Susana’s Café; a charming downtown spot located in a beautifully preserved 100-year-old Craftsman home. Celebrated for bringing Costa Rican coffee culture to the city, the café serves artisanal coffee brewed with traditional methods alongside Latin dishes.
“Opening Susana’s Café was about more than serving food and coffee,” said owner Susana Martinez, owner of Susana’s Café. “It was about preserving a piece of Kissimmee history and sharing the richness of Latin flavours with our community. We do everything with love—every cup, every dish is made to slow down, savor, and celebrate the culture we cherish.”
These 40 locations were selected based on their ability to tell a bigger story through food, whether highlighting underrepresented communities, using local resources in unique ways, or revealing hidden culinary gems with fascinating histories.
“Food has the power to tell stories that go beyond the plate,” said Louise Story, Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Obscura. “Through this partnership with Experience Kissimmee, we enjoyed uncovering these hidden gems and are excited to highlight these restaurants and culinary experiences that reveal the rich history, culture, and creativity of the local Hispanic and Latino communities. These small businesses are the heartbeat of the city, and the Latin Culinary Trail is simply not to be missed.“
