Don’t Miss: Tales from the Wild – London’s first wildlife conservation storytelling event

Date:

London is a city thriving with culture and new shows and exhibitions to discover and we have one you don’t want to miss. This November don’t miss Tales from the Wild – London’s first Wildlife Conservation Storytelling event.

Conserving our nature and wildlife has never been more vital than it is now. Which is why it’s so important to ensure the correct recognition and awareness is made. And what better way to do this than through storytelling? Individuals and organisations fighting to protect the natural world increasingly recognise the power of storytelling: Stories about the natural world delight and educate us; help us feel connected to the planet and one another; and urge us to action. This is where Tales from the Wild – London’s first Wildlife Conservation Storytelling events comes in. This is an event you don’t want to miss…

What is Tales from the Wild?

During this live storytelling event, four professional storytellers working to conserve the environment will tell personal, never-before-shared tales from their global adventures. Travel with them to remote stretches of the world, from Mesopotamia to the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, and find out what drives them in an interactive Q&A that follows their talks. Hosted by Millie Kerr—a conservation journalist, travel writer, and wildlife photographer—alongside three dynamic female storytellers: Sarah Begum, Harriet Constable, and Annabel Illingworth.

Millie Kerr says:

“Tales from the Wild is all about reconnecting with one another and the natural world through the ancient art of storytelling. By sharing powerful true stories about experiences in the natural world, four professional storytellers will transport members of the audience to remote corners of the earth while inviting them to think about their own relationship with nature. In the digital era, we’re increasingly disconnected from nature and one another and consume stories on televisions and smartphones, so my hope is this event can strip things back and help us rediscover the power of live storytelling.”

The story behind the presenters:

Millie Kerr is a lawyer-turned-multimedia storyteller focused on wildlife conservation. Millie has authored articles in numerous magazines and newspapers – among them The Economist, The Guardian, National Geographic Traveller, The New York Times, Popular Science, and The Wall Street Journal— and she presented/produced a digital documentary segment for Earth Touch News.
