The urban life packed with buildings, people, and cars has its charms, but it often leaves us feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Take a weekend out in the woods and pinch your stretch tent

There are many nice and calm camping spots around the major cities of the UK, I bet there’s one close to you. Getting out into the wild can be what you, your family, or friends need to refresh, and feel recharged under some nomad tents

London

London is a stunning historical city with a ton of attractions, which 9 million people call home. The downside is it can get crowded, noisy, and bustling. Luckily, there are a ton of camping spots a few minutes or hours away from it.

If you want to experience an upper-class camping head to Plush Tents Glamping It’s located in Sussex, I know camping can throw off many people, but you don’t have to ditch some homeyness to breathe fresh air!

On the other hand, if you want the true off-grind experience head to Holden Farm Camping Site, It’s situated in Hampshire, just a 2h drive from London. Green and spacious farm with actual sheep where families and pets can have a great time.

Manchester

Manchester is one of the fastest developing cities in the country, and may not be the first place that comes to your mind when looking for an outdoor getaway, but in fact, there are many great and calm camping sites near the city.

If you don’t want to go that far away from the city, head to Well-i-Hole Farm in Saddleworth. While it’s just 40 min away from the city, it’s far enough to completely change the landscape and give you a much-desired calm and fresh air. There are a set of biking and hiking trails close by like Dove Stone Reservoir, or Saddleworth Moor.

Another good option that’s still close to the city is The Paddock, it’s situated in Bury which is just 30 min away by car. This spot is more like a glamping spot, it’s quite small but still offers nice spaces. The grass is green and well taken care of, it also offers fire pits and BBQ spots.

Birmingham

The city of Birmingham is one of the best choices for camping, it’s not as big as the other two cities and is surrounded by smaller towns, villages, and green areas.

A good option for traditional and rustic camping is Umberslade Estate in Warwickshire, it’s just 40 min away from the city. It’s a holiday park, packed with green areas in a historical ground! Also, it’s close to other attractions like Warwick Castle.

Next, you can visit the Royal Oak Campsite, It’s situated in Alveley and is a unique site acclaimed for its walking paths and pale ales. Not only that, it’s really close to Birmingham nature reserves and other attractions like Severn Valley Railway
