Foundry Eastbourne Review – CoWorking Redefined

Date:

The days of working in an office are out and working from home is in. More of us than ever are reaping the benefits and flexibility of not having to commute to a set destination and being able to stick closer to home or work from where is convenient. Yet just because we’re not working from the office, doesn’t mean that we want to forego everything an office space encapsulates. While working from home has its benefits, you don’t get the same sense of community and motivation that you get when you physically go to work. We recently headed to Foundry Eastbourne coworking space to see what their space offered and whether or not it could offer all the benefits of working in an office, and a whole load of other bits thrown in too.

The Foundry Eastbourne Coworking Space

Foundry Eastbourne opened in 2022, designed as a space to revolutionise the co-working revolution. Offering private offices, dedicated desks, co-working spaces and sound proof booths for when you’re on work calls, it caters for every type of from-home worker. Located in the Beacon shopping centre, the space has undergone a recent transformation, turning the ground floor into a selection of private office spaces and commercial rooms for things such as treatment rooms or commercial spaces. There is a large bleachers style seating at the far end of the hall, where you can sit for meetings, host talks and seminars, or just relax with a coffee on your lunch break.

Head upstairs and you’re greeted with a few more spaces including a tattoo studio and dental facility, before large glass doors lead to the main coworking space. It’s bright, airy and beautifully designed. It feels like you’re heading into a stylish office in the big city, where motivational art adorns the walls, furniture in jewel shades is scattered strategically around for coffee meetings or relaxation and industrial-chic lighting hangs from the ceiling. An open-style kitchen space offers tea and coffee making facilities, space to store your lunch, a wine fridge and free beer on tap – a particularly popular feature when 4pm rolls around on a Friday!

There are long desks with ergonomically designed chairs to support your wrists and back, where you can plug your laptop in and get down to business. One of the best things is you’re not cramped, there’s plenty of room to set yourself up, yet you’re not too far away from everyone to feel you can’t chat and collaborate as you go, if you wish. The coworking space is priced from £99 per month + VAT making it an extremely well priced option compared to similar options.

You can hire monitors for £5 for the day which you can use if you’re doing a project that requires two screens, or you can sit back on a sofa if you wish to work somewhere a little more chilled. Foundry Eastbourne coworking space offers the freedom to work as you wish, away from the distractions of home and with all the facilities you could need.

For businesses that require a bit more privacy or something more dedicated, there are a number of private or shared offices for rent. These offices are suitable for 2-8 people and include super fast wifi, desks and office chairs so your set up is ready to go! It’s just down to you to bring your business and ideas and get going.

When you rent an office, you also get access to the coworking lounge and shared kitchen area. This is priced from £265+VAT per month. If you work from the coworking space but need to get together with colleagues or clients, there are also meeting rooms available for hire, with one for 2 people and one for 8 people. Ideal for connecting in person and avoiding laggy Zoom calls, you can meet in a space that you’re proud to show to others.

The Foundry Eastbourne

Foundry Eastbourne really is a space that has it all. It’s a space designed for collaboration, or for taking yourself into the zone for work, where you can shut off from the rest of the world in a space that’s inspiring and motivating. There are showers available and they also have a partnership in place with Lush in their toiletry products. So whether you’re looking for a body spray spritz, some chewable toothpaste mints, hand lotion or delicious smelling soap you’re in the right place. It’s these small details that set Foundry Eastbourne apart, taking care of its members in every aspect possible.

To find out more and book your spot at Foundry Eastbourne coworking space, check out their website here. You can also book in for a free trial day to try the facilities for yourself, but trust us, when you’ve been there once you’ll find it near impossible to stay away. Working from your kitchen table won’t feel the same ever again.

There are also Foundry coworking spaces in Poole and their newest opening in Walthamstow when looking for a coworking space in London!
