This japanese restaurant has a cherry blossom installation and it’s beautiful

Suntory has unveiled a handmade cherry blossom installation within the Shochu Lounge at Roka Charlotte Street….

Get your phones at the ready, for we’ve found what is definitely a contender for London’s most beautifully instagrammable restaurant.

Available to view and enjoy from the 26th April until the 7th of June, Roka in Charlotte Street has created a whimsical subterranean interior dripping with a canopy of fresh blossoms. The room features a series of trees, each of which is complete with individual branches and pale pink flowers designed to replicate the real thing. They overlook the venue’s tables and bar area, and are accompanied by a romantic pink lighting to add to the atmosphere.

But that is not all. In addition to the decor, Roka have also added a sakura-inspired cocktail menu, a further nod towards the Japenese hanami – basking in the transient beauty of flowers. Cocktails are completely bespoke and created by the bar development manager Simon Freeth. They include the likes of a ‘Kyuri Highball’ made from rich shochu and soda, a Sakura Sour (a mix of peach whisky) and the restaurant’s take on the ‘Old Fashioned’ – a mix of sherry and plum infused saké and whisky.

Keita Minari, brand manager international, Beam Suntory said: “Sakura is a hugely important season in Japanese culture, and Hanami has been practiced for centuries. In modern culture, it is celebrated with picnic parties under the canopies of cherry blossom. We wanted to recreate a ‘Suntory’ version of this in London, and Roka’s Shochu Lounge is the perfect place to experience a contemporary take on Hanami.”

For anyone who is a little peckish, you can also indulge in their delicious new food menu, packed with a range of traditional Japanese delights.
Head down to Roka Charlotte Street, 37 Charlotte St, W1T 1RR and see the installation from Apr 26-Jun 7.
