London itself is very accessible and this is most likely one of the reason’s it’s the most visited city in the world. While a lot of attractions offer wheelchairs or mobility scooters, it’s better to invest in your own to bring with you just in case there aren’t any available and to make sure it is one that is right for you. Immerse yourself within the history of one of the most famous structures in the world and discover all its hidden secrets. Explore the exhibition inside and learn about why it came into existence, after enjoy the panoramic views from the walkway, which is 45m above the river. It’s a great option for accessible friendly attractions in London as there is lift access taking visitors to all levels in the towers and the Engine Rooms. This means that visitors can enjoy all parts of this iconic landmark. Accessible toilets are available once inside, located in the South Tower and in the Engine Rooms.
Pose like Usain Bolt, or get up close with the Royals in accessible friendly attraction Madame Tussauds. This attraction offers you a unique chance to get up close to a life-size wax figure of your idols and snap as many photos as you like. Each room is unique with different themes flooding the building, a great way to spend the day with your family.
Madame Tussauds is fully accessible however PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons Madame Tussauds can only accept three wheelchair users in the building at any one time and in order to guarantee entry to their attraction you must book a space in advance via their call centre on 03333212001*.
If you haven’t been on the London Eye, it’s a must! Book yourself a ticket and enjoy beautiful, panoramic views across the city’s most famous landmarks. If you prebook your ticket you will receive a discount. Alternatively, you could consider a combined ticket (which includes multiple attractions) and save even more.
London Eye is fully accessible. However, due to health and safety, they are only permitted to allow entry to two wheelchair users per capsule and eight on The London Eye at any one time. Therefore to avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend booking your tickets in advance.
A great day out for the family, the London zoo prioritises animal welfare and educates visitors about their animals throughout the park. The zoo gives you a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy over 750 different types of species. You can visit exhibits such as the Tiger Territory, Penguin Beach, Gorilla Kingdom and Land of the Lions or book yourself into a dedicated tour and meet the animals with a specialist zookeeper.
The Zoo is more than 170 years old and contains many old buildings, 12 of which are listed. However, most of the Zoo is accessible for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties.
