If you enjoy Afternoon Tea, Fortnum and Mason’s high tea and jazz event arriving this month will be an elevated Tea experience you absolutely will not want to miss out on.
Fortnum and Mason’s iconic Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon is hosting a high tea and jazz event, every Thursday throughout August of this year. Kicking off on the 5th of August, this series will recall the historic and popular High Tea of the exciting 1920s, where Afternoon Tea was held with live jazz bands.
This will be an event to dress up for and enjoy as a decadent dining experience. And certainly, you will want to try the menu. In addition to the glass of Fortnum and Mason’s Bland de Blancs Champagne, the list of items offered for Fortnum and Mason’s high tea and jazz includes a Lobster Omelette Victoria with Truffle, Puff Pastry Case of Artichoke and Confit Peppers with Basil Pepper, traditional PGI Lamb Wellington or fresh Baked Cornish Brill with Champagne sauce.
And, as per any afternoon tea at Fortnums, the Fortnum and Mason’s High Tea and jazz event will include the quintessential in-house Scones, house-made Strawberry Preserve, Lemon Curd, and Clotted Cream
This dinner will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm, featuring the London Jazz institution’s Ronnie Scott’s. Different trio’s will be featured each Thursday at the event, so you’ll be sure to catch a unique experience each Thursday this month.
Trio’s performing at Fortnum and Mason’s high tea and jazz include world-renowned musicians. Among some is Jenny Carr Trio’s, Jenny Car; a pianist famous for working with contemporary artists; British pianist Gabriel Latchin of the Gabriel Latchin Trio, who recently was described by Jazzwise magazine as, “impeccable… the clarity of his lines evoking something of Hank Jones or Tommy Flanagan”, among other internationally acclaimed Jazz musicians.
Bookings will be taken for up to 12 guests, so you can make this an evening of any excursion–lovely for a pair or large group. To get your place at Fortnum and Mason’s High Tea and Jazz evenings, head to eventbrite.com; with tickets beginning at £80 per guest.
