While it is a city, it feels far from it, with a real village-y feel. It has beautiful B&Bs, boutique hotels, many places to stay and a host of cultural activities begging for languid afternoons spent together taking it all in. Beyond this, you can also enjoy all that a city has to offer, with a great centre for shopping, easy transport links and plenty of things to immerse yourself in.

When looking for a romantic break away, it couldn’t be more perfect. Whether you’re looking for a moonlit boat ride, cocktails with a view or your own gin-making experience, there is so much to choose between.
